SUMMER BAND AND SYSTEM BLUE MARCHING CAMPS

Welcome to the best band camp in South Texas! Whether you choose band, drum major, drum line, or color guard camp, you get top-rate instruction by a great staff!

The 2017 camps will run over a nine-day period from June 10-18.

The
System Blue Marching Camp for high school drum majors, color guard, and drum line students. The System Blue Marching Camp will last from June 10-14, concluding with a demonstration in the SPEC.

The week will continue with the
Summer Band Camp will be from June 14-18, concluding with an evening concert featuring all three concert bands, the jazz ensemble, and the camp's chamber groups.

SYSTEM BLUE MARCHING CAMP

From June 10-14, students will be taught by System Blue faculty, with a focus on improving techniques for Drum Major, Color Guard, and Drum Line. System Blue faculty are former members of the Blue Devils Drum and Bugle Corps and have taught clinics and camps all over the country.

System Blue Marching Camp is open to students entering 9th grade through graduating 12th graders.

TAMUK SUMMER BAND CAMP

From June 14-18, Middle and High School band students will participate in one of three concert bands and receive masterclass instruction from TAMUK faculty and top instructors from the area. Students will also be able to select from electives for further music study, with topics including: Chamber Music, Composition, Jazz Band, Latin Ensemble, and Music History.

Students participating in the System Blue Camp for the first part of the week may register to continue into the Summer Band Camp.

MARCHING BAND ARRANGING CLINIC

On June 11, directors can participate in the marching band arranging clinic, taught by Dr. Matthew Hightower, Assistant Professor of Tuba/Euphonium at TAMUK. He is a composer for Fannin Musical Productions and former member of the Cavaliers Drum and Bugle Corps. His compositions and arrangements have been performed at top competitions throughout the United States.

The clinic is free to directors who bring 5 or more students to the System Blue Camp. Otherwise, cost is $25.
